Alto, TX:  Alto ISD coach Paul Dixon is currently under investigation by authorities for having an alleged improper teacher/student relationship with an underage girl. Coach Dixon, age 37, turned in his resignation last week in response to allegations of text messaging a female student. Another “unnamed” Alto ISD faculty member has also resigned for allegedly obstructing the investigation. Teacher/student improprieties can be prosecuted as 2nd degree felonies under current Texas law.

Crockett, TX:  Tyler’s federal court has indicted two Houston County sheriff deputies for an alleged civil rights violation occurring in the Davy Crockett National Forest. District court bailiff Charles James Clark and narcotics investigator Henry Doyce Gresham, Jr. are both charged with conspiracy and assault of a Crockett, TX man the pair allegedly TASERED and left for dead out in the National Forest in July 2008. The two Houston County deputies, Clark age 63 and Gresham age 50, are on administrative leave pending their federal trial. No need for a pseudo-concerned citizen and buddy-buddy district judge to call an urgent removal hearing for this bailiff and narcotics officer, a la’ Randall Thompson.

Rusk, TX: Cherokee County DPS Sergeant Thomas Bledsoe was suspended with pay Friday March 20, 2009 from an indecent exposure arrest earlier the previous month. Sgt. Bledsoe allegedly pulled his pants down and flashed a female DPS employee on February 3rd. He was moved from the Cherokee County office in Jacksonville to the Palestine, TX DPS office after the initial complaint. The Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.

Nationwide:  March 15 through March 21 is National Sunshine Week. Sponsored by the American Society of Newspaper Editors, National Sunshine Week recognizes the importance of an open government and the public access of information.

  1. I went to school with both John and Paul Dixon. At the time his dad John Paul Dixon was a coach at our High School and he had an affair with my friend. She lost her dad and he was always there to “comfort” her. I saw them kiss and talk on the phone several times, so its no suprise that his boys have taken the same path. Makes me sick!

  2. The “other” faculty member was Paul’s father, John Paul Dixon. He was sent home with pay because he confronted the young girl that “tattled” on his son and threatened her saying she had better not ruin his son’s life. I think his son ruined his life on his own!

    • first off, thats not even the truth. I wish people who dont know what really happened would stay out of it. I know you are entitled to your own opinion, but you do NOT have the right to say some things you don’t know anything about. Let it go like everybody else is trying to. It’s already hurting their family and the girl’s as well. Just let it be.

  3. Is unlikely that Alto’s High School Coach Paul Dixon and/or former Alto coach John Paul Dixon, his father, will actually be held accountable for what they have been accused. Because if those accusations were proven to be true, then the Dixons would likely be inclined to divulge the sordid closet shenanigans of some of Alto’s version of ’finest’. A diversified assortment of both male and female social club members, teachers, elected officials, local business owners and church leaders would be at risk to be outed as counterfeit Christians and worse.

  5. DPS Sargeant Bledsoe was found non guilty by a jury of his peers. The complainant was exposed for being untruthful. If you are going to write articles about alleged improprieties of various officials, you should at least follow up with the ultimate disposition on such cases instead of leaving readers of your site with the impression that the Sargeant’s alleged conduct was in fact unlawful.

  7. P.S.: I live in North Texas now, but have been following this story closely. Funny, when other victims were asked to post, the ability to do so was mysteriously prohibited.

    FREEDOM OF SPEECH! …

  8. Paul is a good person. Girls now a days have no morals and confront all these coaches, teachers and flaunt themselves in front of them…get their cell numbers and text them. She is just as guilty as he is…plus she is of age…20. Everyone makes mistakes…no one is perfect…and if you ARE perfect then let you be the first to cast the first stone…otherwise if the Lord can forgive then Christian people should too.

    • The Alto ISD coach had sex with a student that was documented by KTRE-Lufkin and found within the ongoing text messaging. Teachers lose their jobs and go to prison for texting students, BUT not in Cherokee County if they are members of Elmer Beckworth’s jury pool.

    • “a good person;” tell that to the cheater’s wife and children.
Did in it Elementary School gym of all places, which, by the way, is a felony for a teacher to engage in with a student of ANY age.
      He needs a good lawyer.
